How the Incident Unfolded

According to the police, the brutal attack took place on Thursday night around 11 PM. A 29-year-old Indian woman, who runs a homestay, was spending time with an Israeli tourist and three male tourists near Tungabhadra canal close to Sanapur Lake. They were playing guitar and enjoying music when three men on a motorcycle approached them.

The attackers asked them about a petrol pump in the area. When the homestay owner told them that there was no petrol pump nearby, the men demanded ₹100 from them. When she refused, the attackers insisted again. One of the male tourists from Odisha eventually gave them ₹20 to avoid any trouble.
