Zoom interview:-In today’s world, marriage frauds seem to be becoming a trend. Every day, newspapers and news channels are filled with stories of betrayal in relationships. One such shocking case has now emerged from Bengaluru, India’s tech capital, where a software engineer exposed his wife’s infidelity using a clever strategy straight out of a spy thriller. Not only did his efforts reveal the truth, but the family court also ruled in his favor, rejecting his wife’s demand for crores in alimony.
The Love Story that Turned Sour
The couple’s story began in 2018 in Bantwal, Dakshina Kannada district. Both were from the tech industry, and after marriage, they settled in the KR Puram area of Bengaluru. Initially, everything seemed perfect, but within a few months, the husband noticed a drastic change in his wife’s behavior. She started hiding her phone, making secretive calls, and managing money transactions in a suspicious manner. The husband’s doubts grew when he heard her mention her ex-boyfriend. Even worse, she often compared him to her ex, saying, “He was better than you!”
Slowly, the husband’s suspicion turned into a strong belief that something was wrong. Not only was she still in contact with her ex-boyfriend, but he also suspected that there might be someone else in her life. Instead of confronting her directly, he decided to uncover the truth in a clever way.
The Genius Spy Plan: Fake Zoom Interview
The husband planned an extraordinary way to catch his wife’s lie. He set up a fake Zoom interview, pretending to be a potential employer interviewing her. During the call, his wife, unaware of the setup, confidently claimed that her first marriage was over and that she was now married to someone else. This shocking confession on video was the first solid proof of her betrayal.
RTI Revelation: Proof of Second Marriage
But the husband did not stop there. To gather undeniable evidence, he filed a Right to Information (RTI) application and collected crucial documents – PAN card details, travel records, marriage certificates, and an affidavit for a name change. These documents proved that his wife had secretly married another man in March 2023, despite still being married to him.
Wife’s Counterattack: False Allegations
After realizing she had been exposed, the wife retaliated aggressively. She filed complaints against her husband, accusing him of domestic violence, forced abortion, and dowry harassment. She claimed that he had demanded ₹10 lakh and 30 sovereigns of gold from her. But her false claims failed to stand against the strong evidence presented by her husband.
Court’s Verdict: Truth Triumphs
After a legal battle that lasted almost four years, the Bengaluru Family Court finally delivered its judgment on April 23, 2025. The court not only approved the husband’s divorce petition but also dismissed the wife’s demand for ₹3 crore in alimony and ₹60,000 monthly maintenance. The court stated that the husband was not liable to pay any alimony due to the wife’s clear betrayal.
However, the court did direct the husband to return his wife’s jewelry, ensuring a fair settlement.
