IND vs NZ 1st Test Score:-The Indian cricket team was in tremendous form in the 2019 ODI World Cup. Led by captain Virat Kohli, the team won many great matches and confirmed its place in the semi-finals. This World Cup was also special because it was Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s last World Cup, and fans hoped that India would definitely win the title this time. Rohit Sharma scored a record 5 centuries in this tournament and his bat was raining runs in every match.

India faced New Zealand in the semi-finals. The match was played at Old Trafford in Manchester, where the Indian bowlers performed brilliantly and stopped New Zealand at 239 runs. At that time Indian fans and experts felt that India would easily achieve this target and reach the final.

But the deadly bowling of New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry dashed the dreams of the Indian team. Henry shook the Indian innings badly by sending India’s top batsmen to the pavilion in the beginning. He dismissed Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul at a score of only 1-1. India’s start was so bad that the team lost its 3 important wickets within 5 runs.

Matt Henry’s performance in the match was worth watching. He took 3 wickets for only 37 runs in 10 overs. His spell was no less than a nightmare for the Indian batsmen. He made India’s situation even worse by taking a brilliant catch of Dinesh Karthik. At one time it seemed that Dhoni and Jadeja’s innings would bring India back in the match. Together, they shared a 116-run partnership and showed a ray of hope to the Indian fans, but as soon as Jadeja was out, India’s last hope was also shattered.

Dhoni’s run out also proved to be a decisive moment of that match, and eventually the Indian team was all out for 221 runs. With this defeat, India’s dream of winning the World Cup was also shattered and Matt Henry became a villain for Indian cricket fans.

Even after this, Matt Henry performed well against India on many occasions. In a match in Bengaluru, where there were overcast conditions, he wreaked havoc against the Indian batsmen. In that match, he took 5 wickets for just 15 runs in 13.2 overs and destroyed India’s batting. He sent Kuldeep Yadav, Ashwin, Jadeja, Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant to the pavilion, due to which the Indian team was seen struggling.

Matt Henry was born in Christchurch in 1991 and made his international debut in 2014. However, he was out of the team for a long time due to injuries. Despite this, returning fit before big tournaments became his specialty. Henry has played 25 Tests, 82 ODIs and 18 T20 matches so far. He has taken 105 wickets in Test cricket and 141 wickets in ODIs.

Henry has been away from IPL since 2017, but his name remains a painful memory for Indian fans. His brilliant bowling in the 2019 World Cup semi-final is one of those moments in Indian cricket history that is hard to forget.
