IPL Jio Cinema:- Now you can’t watch IPL 2025 Jio Cinema, know?

IPL 2025:-IPL 2025 is going to happen next year, which you all used to watch on Jio Cinema, but now you will not be able to watch it because now you can watch it on Disney + Hotstar, know the full news.  IPL

IPL 2025:-Reliance and Disney together formed a new company in February 2024, which is valued at $8.5 billion (about Rs 71,455 crore). This new company has 120 TV channels and two major streaming services, Jio Cinema and Disney + Hotstar. Till now big events of cricket and other sports were shown on both the platforms, but now the company is going to make a big change.

According to a Reuters report, this new company has decided that in the coming time, like IPL 2025 and all other big cricket and sports events will not be shown on Jio Cinema. Instead, all these events will be streamed on Disney + Hotstar. Although there has been no official statement about this yet, the reasons for taking this step from the company have come to the fore.

A major reason for this change is believed to be Disney + Hotstar’s excellent live streaming technology and targeted advertising capabilities. Hotstar is already considered a reliable platform to live stream big events. For example, last year the ODI Cricket World Cup final was watched by 59 million people on Hotstar, which was a record.

At present, Jio Cinema has the broadcasting rights for events like IPL, English Premier League and Pro Kabaddi League. On the other hand, Disney+ Hotstar has the rights to many other sports events including all ICC tournaments. Recently, Hotstar’s India head, Sajith Sivanandan told his team that all live sports events will be moved from Jio Cinema to Disney+ Hotstar in the coming time.

This change is likely to be fully implemented by early 2025. By January 2025, all sports events will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. This decision has been taken because Disney+ Hotstar’s technology and advertising model are more advanced, making the live streaming experience even better.

It is not yet clear whether both Jio Cinema and Disney+ Hotstar platforms will continue to offer content simultaneously or one of them will be shut down. The merger was approved by the CCI (Competition Commission of India) in August 2024, making the partnership between the two companies formal. After this change, it remains to be seen what impact this decision has on the Indian digital streaming market, especially on the audience of cricket and other sports.
