Instagram:-Another incident has come to light in the growing cases of online fraud. 25-year-old Archana (name changed), a resident of Udupi, Karnataka, lost Rs 1.94 lakh after being lured with a lucrative job offer. This incident became a cause of trouble for Archana when she was scrolling on social media and an advertisement caught her attention.
What happened?
Archana was looking for a job on social media. She came across an advertisement on Instagram, which claimed to work in the name of “Amazon Freshers Job in India” and earn money quickly. The advertisement was so attractive that Archana clicked on the link given in it.
After clicking on the link, she received a message from an unknown number on WhatsApp. Soon, she was added to a group, where many people started chatting with her. These people convinced her that she could earn good money by working online.

Initially, some money was given to gain trust
Archana was given easy and quick tasks, like pretending to watch some advertisements or buying small things. In return, she was also sent some money, so that she could trust them. The fraudsters then made her another big offer, telling her that if she invests a little money, she will get back many times more money than that.
The lure of a big investment
Archana was convinced that the job was real. She transferred a total of Rs 1.94 lakh from her savings and borrowed money to different UPI IDs between October 18 and October 24. Initially, she thought she was going to earn a lot.
The truth came out
When Archana tried to withdraw her money, she found out that it was all a big fraud. Her money was blocked, and when she tried to contact the concerned people, no one responded to her. Her number was also blocked on WhatsApp.
