Churu News:-A unique and much talked about case of relationships has come to light in Chhapar village of Churu district of Rajasthan. This is the story of 22-year-old Gayatri, who left her husband and started a new life with her lover Shravan. This story of bitterness between husband and wife and then love with a new partner highlights the relationships and their challenges in the society.
Gayatri was married three years ago under the Aata-Sata tradition. This practice is prevalent in many parts of Rajasthan, where a family marries its daughter to another family in exchange for its sister. This marriage was arranged by Gayatri’s family in exchange for her brother’s marriage.
Gayatri’s husband is a resident of Chhapar village and runs a tea shop in Bidasar. Although Gayatri had no complaints about her husband’s work, she was deeply saddened by the fact that her husband did not take care of her. The husband’s behavior was rude, and he also used to beat Gayatri during domestic quarrels.
Beginning of love and meeting Shravan
During the growing distance from her husband, Gayatri met a young man named Shravan. Shravan is a resident of Gayatri’s maternal home Chadwas and works in Kuwait. Gayatri told that when she used to go to the fields in her maternal home, Shravan’s house was on the way. This became the means of their first meeting. Gradually, the conversation between the two increased and this conversation turned into love through mobile phone.
Shravan often sent gifts to Gayatri and took care of her. All these things made a place for Shravan in Gayatri’s heart. During this time, Gayatri separated from her in-laws and lived in her maternal home for six months.
Left her husband and a new beginning
Gayatri left her husband sleeping at her in-laws’ house on the night of 9 December. She quietly left on foot and reached Dhani Benatha, where Shravan was already waiting for her. From there, both of them caught a bus together and went to Jodhpur.
After reaching Jodhpur, both of them got the documents made for live-in relationship and decided to live together.
Family’s reaction and threats
Gayatri’s in-laws filed a missing person report at the Bidasar police station. But when it came to light that Gayatri was living with her lover Shravan, the in-laws started pressurizing her.
Gayatri has alleged that her in-laws are now threatening her and Shravan. To escape these threats, Gayatri narrated her ordeal at the Churu SP office and sought protection.
Gayatri’s decision and expectations
Gayatri has clearly stated that she can no longer live with her husband as she only got misery and disdain there. She has decided to live with Shravan and has pleaded for protection from him. Gayatri hopes that the police will help her and support her in starting a new life.
