Doctor cancer from patient:-A shocking and unprecedented case has come to light in the medical world, where a doctor contracted cancer from his patient during surgery. This is the first known case of its kind, which has left the medical community astounded. The incident took place in Germany, where a 53-year-old surgeon performed surgery to remove a rare type of cancerous tumor from the abdomen of a 32-year-old patient.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, during the surgery, the doctor accidentally cut his hand. The wound was immediately disinfected and bandaged. However, five months later, the doctor noticed a small lump where his hand had been cut. Upon further investigation, it was found that the lump was a malignant tumor, identical to the type of cancer the patient had. After conducting tests, experts confirmed that the tumor in the doctor’s hand developed from tumor cells that were transferred from the patient during surgery.
The medical report explains that during the operation, the cancerous cells from the patient’s tumor entered the doctor’s body through the cut on his hand. Normally, when foreign tissues or cells enter the body, the immune system should destroy them. However, in this case, the doctor’s immune system failed to eliminate the tumor cells.
This case was first reported in 1996 and has recently been published in the New England Journal of Medicine. The rare cancer involved is called Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma, which develops in soft tissues. According to medical experts, this is an extremely rare occurrence with almost no chances of happening. Typically, when a person undergoes an organ transplant, the immune system rejects foreign cells. But in this case, the doctor’s immune system was unable to reject the cancerous cells.
The doctor’s tumor was successfully removed, and two years later, the cancer had not returned.
