Bhadas… This is a word which sounds so common, but its effect in real life can be equally dreadful. Many times a person suppresses the words of his heart within,
Lucknow News:-Anger is one thing, but when it turns into long-held resentment, it can destroy lives. That’s exactly what happened with 21-year-old Sonu Kashyap, a young man from Lucknow, who held a deep grudge in his heart against his own father for 11 long years. And when that anger finally exploded, it led to a crime so disturbing, it’ll send shivers down your spine.
Let’s take you back to how this heartbreaking story began.
👦 It Started in 2015 – A Childhood Scar That Never Healed
In 2015, Sonu Kashyap (whose real name is Anup) was just an 11-year-old boy living in Kalyanpur, Lucknow. One day, in front of his eyes, something happened that changed him forever.
His father, Manoj Kumar, publicly slapped his mother and humiliated her in front of others. But it didn’t stop there. Manoj physically abused his wife so badly that she lost her memory and started having seizures (epilepsy). This traumatic scene left a deep mark on little Sonu’s mind.
Even though years passed, Sonu never forgot that moment. With age, his pain turned into silent rage.
🚴♂️ Life Moved On… But The Anger Stayed
As he grew older, Sonu started working as a delivery boy. But even during deliveries, his mind often wandered back to that horrifying day — the day his mother was beaten and insulted by the man who was supposed to protect her.
Then, one day, everything changed again.
While passing through Munshipuliya Crossing in Lucknow, Sonu saw someone selling coconut water — it was none other than his father Manoj.
The sight reopened old wounds. All the pain, rage, and helplessness he had buried for over a decade suddenly rose to the surface.
🔥 “He hit my mother. I won’t spare him.”
Sonu couldn’t hold it in anymore. He shared his painful past with four of his friends — Sunny Kashyap, Salman, Ranjeet Kumar, and Rahmat Ali.
He told them, “He hit my mother. I will not leave him alive.”
Together, they planned an attack.
They observed which lane Manoj took daily to return home. On May 22nd, they waited in that same lane.
As soon as Manoj appeared, Sonu hit him with an iron rod, and the others joined in. They beat him mercilessly with rods and sticks until Manoj collapsed, unconscious and bleeding.
Thinking he was dead, the group ran away from the scene.
🕵️♂️ Police Investigation: A Case With No Leads
After the incident, the police were left puzzled. There were no eyewitnesses, and no clear motive.
Days passed… then weeks… and still, the mystery remained unsolved.
Until a small but crucial clue emerged — something the killers didn’t expect.
👕 The Breakthrough: A T-Shirt with “The Simpsons”
The turning point came through a simple piece of clothing — an orange T-shirt with the cartoon “The Simpsons” printed on it. In CCTV footage from the day of the crime, one of the attackers was seen wearing that exact T-shirt — with a cut mark on the cartoon’s head.
As luck would have it, a young man had recently posted a picture of himself on social media wearing the same shirt.
The Indira Nagar police team, who had been scanning social media for clues, immediately took note.
They tracked him down and reached his house, disguised as delivery workers.
During questioning, the young man confessed to the crime. His confession helped the police identify the others involved in the attack.
👮 Arrests and Confession
On July 20, the police arrested Sonu and his four friends.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Shashank Singh confirmed that this was not a random attack. It was a carefully planned murder, rooted in a ten-year-old grudge.
🧠 The Bigger Picture – When Pain Turns to Violence
This case shows us something deeply disturbing — how emotional trauma, if left unhealed, can take a dangerous turn. Sonu was once a little boy who saw his mother suffer. But instead of getting justice, he chose revenge. And that revenge turned him into a criminal.
It’s a story filled with pain, anger, and loss — a story where no one really wins.
Sometimes, unspoken pain becomes poison. What Sonu saw as a child was indeed horrifying. But letting that pain control his life for over a decade — and choosing violence — only made things worse.
Now, a mother has lost her son to crime, and a father lies broken, both literally and emotionally.
This story is not just about a crime… it’s about the danger of bottling up trauma, and how important it is to seek healing before it’s too late.
