A young man named Sameer, just 20 years old, was casually sitting outside his grandparents’ house, scrolling through his mobile phone — unaware that it was the last few minutes of his life.
What exactly happened?
This shocking incident took place in the Seelampur area of North-East Delhi. It was around 11:40 PM on a quiet Sunday night when Delhi Police received a PCR call. On the call was Sameer’s father, informing the police that his son had been shot. The police rushed to the location immediately.
By the time they arrived, they found that locals had already taken Sameer to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, when the doctors examined him, he was declared dead. The news of his death turned the calm neighborhood into a zone of sorrow and fear.
Why was Sameer killed?
As the police started investigating the case, the shocking truth came out. The reason behind the murder was a love triangle. Sameer had a friendship with a girl. However, another young man also had feelings for the same girl. This led to growing jealousy and tension between the two boys.
According to a police officer, the dispute between Sameer and the other boy had become quite serious. It escalated from arguments to an actual physical fight — and finally turned into gun violence. The accused shot Sameer and fled the scene immediately.
What is the police doing now?
The police have registered a murder case under IPC Section 103(1). Several police teams are actively working on the case. Officers are going through CCTV footage from nearby streets and shops to identify the attackers and trace their escape route.
