In the month of April 2025, a sensational incident took place in Jalandhar city of Punjab. BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia’s house was attacked with a grenade on the night of 7-8 April, know about it in this blog?
Punjab News:-A shocking incident took place in Jalandhar, Punjab on the night of 7th-8th April 2025, when a hand grenade was thrown at the house of senior BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia. The attack created a wave of fear not just in Punjab but across the country. Now, the police have arrested the main accused behind this act — a 19-year-old boy named Saeedul Ameen.
Let’s understand what happened in simple, clear words:
📌 Who is Saeedul Ameen?
-
Name: Saeedul Ameen
-
Age: 19 years
-
From: Amroha, Uttar Pradesh
-
Occupation: Worked as a welder
Ameen lived a simple life working in welding jobs, but what no one knew was that he had secretly connected with dangerous people on social media.
📌 How Did He Get Involved in the Attack?
According to police officials, Saeedul Ameen was radicalised over social media platforms. About 4 months before the attack, he came in contact with terrorist handlers sitting abroad, including one Zeeshan Akhtar, a wanted criminal in multiple cases.
Zeeshan, currently hiding in Europe, is also an accused in the famous Baba Siddiqui murder case. He used platforms like Instagram to connect with young, vulnerable people like Ameen.
At first, Ameen was lured with money promises. Slowly, he was given terrorist content, videos of grenade attacks, and instructions on how to execute such acts.
📌 What Was the Plan?
-
Ameen was promised ₹50,000 for throwing a grenade.
-
He received the hand grenade in Punjab through other local contacts.
-
Before the attack, he stayed with the handlers for 2-3 days in Punjab.
-
On the night of 7-8 April 2025, he carried out the attack by throwing the grenade at Manoranjan Kalia’s house.
-
After the attack, he quietly returned to Amroha.
📌 How Was He Caught?
Punjab Police had already arrested two other accused earlier who had helped Ameen with logistics. The investigation then pointed towards Ameen, and with the help of central agencies and Delhi Police, a joint team caught him from the Jasola area of Delhi.
📌 What’s the Bigger Conspiracy?
The investigation is now focusing on finding:
-
The handlers who were controlling Ameen.
-
The financers who sent money for the attack.
-
The possible foreign links, especially from Pakistan and sleeper cells operating in Europe.
Officials revealed that Zeeshan Akhtar trained Ameen over Instagram, shared videos of grenade attacks, and guided him step by step. Zeeshan was previously hiding in Azerbaijan before fleeing to Europe.
📌 Why This Case is a Wake-Up Call
This case has once again exposed how easily young minds are being radicalised through social media. A 19-year-old welder from a small town got trapped into an international terror network, was given deadly weapons, trained online, and paid to carry out an attack inside India.
It highlights the dangers of cyber radicalisation and how social media platforms can be misused by terror outfits sitting thousands of kilometers away.
📌 The Investigation Continues
Right now, Punjab Police, Delhi Police’s Special Cell, and national security agencies are working together to:
-
Trace more local accomplices.
-
Track the money trail.
-
Locate other potential sleeper cells in India.
-
Coordinate with international agencies to track Zeeshan Akhtar and others hiding abroad.
This shocking case shows how terror networks have modernised their recruitment and operation strategies. What earlier used to happen through underground meetings is now happening over Instagram and messaging apps.
A 19-year-old boy, who should have been thinking about his career and future, was lured into a deadly conspiracy. The authorities acted swiftly to prevent further harm — but this incident serves as a strong reminder of the hidden threats around us.
