Weather Forecast Delhi:-This winter season is proving to be quite challenging. The combination of cold, fog and pollution has become a serious problem for people. Weather experts have advised people to be cautious and take measures to prevent cold to avoid health hazards.

Increasing cold and pollution in North India
The month of December has reached the peak of cold in India. Especially in North India, people are struggling with cold winds, dense fog and increasing pollution. The snowfall in the mountains has further increased the cold in the lower areas, due to which the effect of both cold and pollution has become severe in areas like Delhi and NCR. The level of pollution has increased so much that it is seriously affecting the health of the people.
Delhi’s pollution level
Pollution in Delhi has once again reached a serious level. According to the data of the Central Pollution Control Board, on Thursday, Delhi’s average air quality index (AQI) reached 451, which falls in the ‘severe’ category. In areas like Anand Vihar and Jahangirpuri, the AQI has crossed 470, making it difficult to breathe. Apart from this, dense fog has also affected visibility. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the next three days and warned of dense fog.
Snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir
Snowfall continues in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave warning in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh. A new Western Disturbance is likely to become active from December 27, which may increase snowfall further. The cold has increased significantly in these areas and people need to take preventive measures.

Cold wave in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan
The effect of cold wave continues in the northern states of Punjab and Haryana. The minimum temperature of Faridkot has dropped to 2 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, cities like Bathinda, Amritsar and Ludhiana are also in the grip of severe cold. Hisar and Sirsa in Haryana also recorded temperatures of 2.8 and 3.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
Cold winds have also increased the chill in many areas of Rajasthan. The minimum temperature in Fatehpur dropped to 2.2 degrees Celsius, while cold wave continues in Jaipur and other areas.
Cold and fog in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand
Due to dense fog in Uttar Pradesh, visibility has reduced significantly. The Meteorological Department has warned of fog in many parts of the state. Temperatures have dropped to 9 degrees Celsius in cities like Varanasi and Prayagraj. The effect of fog is also being seen in Bihar, although the temperature may increase slightly due to the effect of jet stream. But the fog and cold will continue there.
There is an alert of light rain and dense fog in Jharkhand, which may further increase the cold.
Weather in South India
Weather conditions are also changing in South India. Light to moderate rain is expected in parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. This situation is due to the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal. These areas will also be affected by cold and rain.
