Cheating in the name of Nikaah in Meerut! The groom was married to his mother-in-law instead of the girl

These days Uttar Pradesh is in the headlines for strange and shocking stories of relationships. Sometimes it is the absconding of mother-in-law and son-in-law and sometimes the love affair of in-laws and in-laws. Know the whole story in this blog?  Meerut News

Meerut News:-These days, Uttar Pradesh seems to be making headlines for the strangest of family dramas — from mother-in-laws eloping with their would-be sons-in-law to bizarre wedding mix-ups. Just a few days ago, a woman in Aligarh ran away with her daughter’s fiancé, and now a new shocking case from Meerut has grabbed attention.

In this strange incident, a young groom happily arrived with his wedding procession, expecting to marry a young bride. But what happened next left him completely shocked. The groom was tricked into marrying his bride’s 45-year-old mother instead!

How It All Happened

A man from Meerut claimed that during his wedding ceremony, instead of marrying his fiancée, he was deceitfully married to his future mother-in-law. According to the victim, 22-year-old Mohammad Azeem, he was supposed to marry 21-year-old Mantasha from Shamli district’s Kankerkhera area.

Azeem said that when the marriage proposal was finalized, he was shown Mantasha’s photo and even met her. Everything seemed fine until the wedding day.

The Wedding Twist

On March 31, during the nikah ceremony held on Eid, Azeem noticed something strange. When the religious leader (Maulvi) conducting the marriage called out the bride’s name as ‘Tahira,’ Azeem was confused. Tahira, it turns out, was Mantasha’s mother — a 45-year-old widow.

When Azeem lifted the bride’s veil to see her face, he was horrified to discover that it wasn’t the young woman he was promised, but her mother.

What Happened Next

Azeem claimed that when he protested and refused to accept the marriage, he was beaten up by his own brother Nadeem, sister-in-law Shaiyda, and the girl’s family. He was even threatened with false rape charges if he didn’t stay quiet.

He then filed a complaint at the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Meerut on April 17, demanding justice for this shocking betrayal.

Azeem’s Allegations

In his complaint, Azeem alleged that his brother and sister-in-law had taken five lakh rupees from the bride’s family to get this marriage done. He also claimed that his marriage was manipulated and that when he refused to go along, he was assaulted and driven away.

This incident quickly went viral and reminded locals of a similar controversy involving a man named Mohammad Azeem from Brahmpuri, Meerut — though this was, in fact, the same Azeem, caught up in yet another wave of social media attention.

According to police officials, the matter has now been “resolved.” Brahmpuri Circle Officer (CO) Soumya Asthana confirmed that both families have reached a compromise, and Azeem has withdrawn his complaint.

This bizarre wedding incident comes shortly after the Aligarh case, where a woman reportedly ran away with her would-be son-in-law. These back-to-back unusual incidents have made UP the center of viral marriage-related news, leaving people equally shocked and amused.
