His story revealed the toxic environment and unsupportive behavior of his boss, culminating in an emotional breakdown during a Google Meet call.

Long Working Hours and Toxic Culture
This developer works remotely for a startup with just two employees and three founders. Despite putting in consistent effort during regular office hours, he often finds himself working for 12 to 15 hours a day. Sharing his experience, he revealed that his boss is anything but supportive. Instead, he constantly demeans him, leaving him feeling humiliated and undervalued.
In his post, the developer mentioned that he and his only colleague have stopped expecting any form of appreciation from their boss. Their only hope is to avoid humiliation.
“We mostly work 12 hours a day, and on some days, it extends to 14-15 hours,” he wrote.

Breaking Point
The developer recounted a specific incident that pushed him to tears. While discussing unclear instructions given by his boss, he sought clarification. Instead of addressing the issue constructively, his boss began defending himself and shifted the blame, making the employee feel even worse.
