Ghaziabad News OF  Religion?:-The increase in conversion cases in Ghaziabad is becoming a serious social issue. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders claim that if this situation continues, the situation in Ghaziabad can also become like Pakistan and Bangladesh. Thousands of cases of conversion have been reported in Ghaziabad in the last 10 years, which has increased social and religious tension in the area.

Dozens of cases came to light in September
If we talk about the month of September only, so far dozens of cases of conversion have been reported in Ghaziabad. Many of these cases are related to forced conversion, where people were forced to change religion by taking advantage of financial constraints or personal crisis.

Maulvi arrested: Case of exorcism and fraud

Recently, Ghaziabad Police arrested another cleric, who was found involved in conversion through exorcism and financial fraud. The case came to light when a woman suffering from kidney failure lodged a complaint that the cleric got her husband converted and also duped her of lakhs of rupees.

The woman has been on dialysis for the last 12 years, and the cleric took advantage of her illness and entangled her husband in religious rituals.

The woman told in the complaint that her husband Sreesh Ojha, who was earlier running a consultancy firm, got into financial crisis in July 2023. During this, one night she saw her husband suddenly lighting incense sticks and reading tasbih, which made her suspicious. When she heard the recording of the cleric’s talks in her husband’s mobile, her suspicion was confirmed.

Fraudulent conversion and cheating of lakhs
Ghaziabad’s DCP Rural Surendra Nath Tiwari said that Maulvi Abdul Rehman has admitted that he used to trap people in his trap on the pretext of exorcism and giving indigenous medicines. He cheated Sreesh Ojha of Rs 7 lakh on the pretext of treatment and financial improvement and also forced him to convert. Not only this, the Maulvi also extorted money from Ojha by luring him to marry another girl.

The police is investigating this matter more deeply and is looking for those people who introduced Ojha to the Maulvi. It is also being investigated how many more people have been cheated through this exorcism.

Second complaint: Cheating on the pretext of meeting the Prime Minister
Another shocking thing came to light in this case, when the woman lodged another FIR accusing three other people of fraud. She alleged that these people cheated her husband of more than Rs 23 lakh by luring him to meet the Prime Minister. These persons committed this fraud by claiming themselves to be working in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The Ghaziabad police is now searching for these three persons. This incident has sparked a new debate about cases of conversion and fraud in the area, where people are being duped by taking advantage of religious faith.

This increase in cases of conversion in Ghaziabad has not only raised questions on law and order, but it also shows how religiously and economically weak people are being targeted and made victims of mental and economic exploitation.
