Making friends on social media using fake names and then cheating has become common these days, but when it comes to religious conversion, assault and coercion, know the full story?

Love trap News:-Today, social media has become a common way for people to connect, but sometimes it also becomes a tool for deception and crime. A shocking incident has come to light from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, where a Muslim man allegedly changed his name on Instagram to befriend a Hindu woman from Hapur, eventually trapping her in a fraudulent love affair and forcing her to convert.
How It Started: A Deceptive Friendship
According to the victim, about nine months ago, she met a man named “Ansh Chaudhary” on Instagram. They started chatting, and soon, their conversations turned into friendship and then love. Trusting him, the woman, along with her 9-year-old daughter, moved from Hapur to Muzaffarnagar, believing she had found a genuine life partner.
However, she had no idea that “Ansh Chaudhary” was actually Majid, a Muslim man who had hidden his real identity.
The Shocking Revelation: Forced Conversion & Abuse
Everything seemed normal until Ramadan arrived. One day, Majid told the woman that she must wake up early and observe Roza (Islamic fasting). She was shocked and questioned him, saying, “Why should I observe Roza when I am a Hindu?”
Her refusal led to brutal physical abuse. Majid beat her up badly and even pressured her to cook chicken despite knowing she was a vegetarian. He further told her:
“Now that you’re with me, you must become a Muslim. Wear a burqa, celebrate Eid, and live like a Muslim woman.”
The woman started doubting his real identity and secretly checked his documents. To her horror, she discovered that all his official IDs had the name “Majid,” except the fake Hindu identity he used to trap her. When she confronted him, he laughed and said:
“Now that you know the truth, listen carefully. I am a Muslim, and in our religion, it is a good deed to convert Hindu girls like you. Consider yourself lucky!”
Threats, Blackmail & Financial Exploitation
The woman also revealed that Majid had made inappropriate videos of her and blackmailed her with them. He even tried to sexually abuse her daughter. When she resisted, he became more violent and threatened to kill her and her child.
Majid also drained her bank account, forcing her to sell her properties. In total, he took lakhs of rupees from her. On March 10, he withdrew ₹5 lakh from her account at knifepoint, holding the blade against her child’s head, warning:
“If you don’t obey, I’ll behead your child in front of you!”
The woman recalled that Majid often boasted about committing crimes. He claimed to have:
- Murdered a property dealer in Ghaziabad.
- Raped and killed a girl with his gang.
- Killed a man in Muzaffarnagar on May 1, 2024, using a screwdriver to stab his eyes.
How She Escaped & Got Justice
Fearing for her life and her child’s safety, she waited for the right moment. She secretly contacted her brother-in-law and informed him about her ordeal. With his help, she escaped and reached Shiv Sena activists, who accompanied her to New Mandi Kotwali police station in Muzaffarnagar on March 11.
The woman, in tears, narrated her horrifying experience to the police. An FIR was immediately registered, and the police arrested Majid on serious charges.
Police Action & Investigation
CO Khatauli, Ramashish Yadav, confirmed the arrest and assured strict action. The police are also investigating Majid’s past crimes, including his claims about murder and robbery.
This case highlights how dangerous social media traps can be. The victim’s courage and timely action helped her escape, but it serves as a warning to others to be cautious while forming relationships online.
