Threat of Corona looms again in Delhi, all hospitals on high alert

Delhi is once again registering a slight but worrying increase in the number of coronavirus cases, which has put the capital on the path of alertness. Know about it?  Corona Delhi News

Delhi News:- The Delhi government has issued a high alert for all hospitals after seeing a small but worrying rise in COVID-19 cases. On Monday, the Health Department released a new advisory asking both government and private hospitals to be fully ready to deal with any possible COVID-19 emergency.

🏥 What the Delhi Government Has Ordered:

The advisory clearly states that all hospitals must:

  • Ensure there are enough beds available

  • Keep oxygen cylinders ready

  • Maintain stock of life-saving medicines

  • Be prepared with COVID-19 vaccines

Hospitals have also been told to send all COVID-positive samples to Lok Nayak Hospital for genome sequencing. This process helps doctors and scientists check whether there is any new or more dangerous variant of the virus spreading.

🧬 Why Genome Sequencing Is Important

Genome sequencing helps in finding out:

  • If the virus has changed its form (mutation)

  • Whether the new form is more infectious or deadly

By doing this early, the government can take quick action and prevent the virus from spreading.

💉 COVID Vaccination Drive May Resume

Hospitals have been told to:

  • Immediately report their current stock of COVID vaccines

  • Be ready to start vaccination at short notice

  • Institutions that don’t have vaccines should arrange for new stock immediately

This step is to ensure that if cases rise quickly, vaccination can be resumed without any delay.

😷 Government’s Appeal to the Public

Delhi’s health department has also appealed to the public to stay alert but not panic. People are requested to:

  • Wear masks in public places

  • Avoid crowded areas

  • Get tested immediately if they show any symptoms

Following basic COVID-appropriate behaviour like before is still very important, the advisory said.

📈 Rise in COVID Cases in Delhi

In the last few days, there has been a slight but concerning increase in COVID-19 cases in the capital. Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar said that 23 new cases were reported as of yesterday.

The government is currently checking whether these patients are local residents or people who recently traveled to Delhi from outside.

👨‍⚕️ Coordination With Hospitals Already in Place

Minister Pankaj Kumar confirmed that:

“We have already coordinated with all Medical Superintendents, doctors, and health teams. Delhi is fully prepared to handle any situation.”

He added that there is no reason for the public to panic as all safety measures are being taken in advance.
