JUI-F leader Qari Shahzad killed by unknown gunmen in Pakistan, Fazal ur Rehman also in danger

Another leader of the staunch anti-India and fundamentalist organization Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) has been killed by unknown gunmen in Pakistan. Know about this? JUI-F leader Qari Shahzad

JUI-F leader Qari Shahzad:-Pakistan is witnessing a series of targeted killings, and the situation is only getting worse. Unknown gunmen are eliminating their targets at will, striking wherever and whenever they want. In the latest incident, another hardline leader with anti-India views, Qari Shahzad, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Karachi’s Khairabad area. He was a senior member of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), a radical political party in Pakistan.

Attack During Morning Prayers

On Monday morning, March 24, 2025, Qari Shahzad was on his way to the mosque for Fajr prayers when he was attacked by unknown gunmen. They fired multiple shots at him before escaping the scene. Local JUI-F leaders later confirmed his identity, stating that he was the vice president of the party’s UC-4 Khairabad unit. Shahzad was rushed to a nearby hospital by local residents, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

This is not an isolated incident. Just a day before, on Saturday, March 23, another senior JUI-F leader, Deputy Amir Qari Nizamuddin, was shot dead in Attock, Punjab, under similar circumstances. Both attacks occurred during the holy month of Ramadan, and both victims were targeted while heading for prayers.

Who Is Behind These Killings?

While official reports often blame terrorist groups like ISIS-K (Islamic State Khorasan) for these attacks, no organization has formally claimed responsibility. However, many suspect that these killings are part of a larger plan orchestrated by Pakistan’s military establishment.

The JUI-F’s chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has been a vocal critic of the Pakistani Army and intelligence agencies. He has repeatedly accused them of manipulating politics, sheltering extremists, and failing to maintain security. Whenever a major terrorist attack occurs in Pakistan, Fazlur Rehman is among the first to hold the government and military responsible. This has made him a direct target of the establishment.

Five JUI-F Leaders Killed in One Month

Over the past month, at least five senior JUI-F leaders have been assassinated in different parts of Pakistan. The pattern is clear:

  • Prominent leaders are being killed one by one.

  • The assassinations are well-planned and executed professionally.

  • Security agencies have failed to catch the culprits despite repeated killings.

These incidents raise serious questions about whether Pakistan’s military is silencing opposition voices within radical groups. While Pakistan often claims to be cracking down on terrorism, these targeted killings suggest that state-backed hit squads might be operating under the radar.

Fazlur Rehman’s Life in Danger?

Given the systematic elimination of JUI-F leaders, many believe that Maulana Fazlur Rehman himself is on the hit list. If the Pakistani military is indeed behind these killings, he could be their ultimate target.

For now, Pakistan’s government and security forces remain silent. Despite the repeated assassinations, no arrests have been made, no investigations have led to concrete results, and no official explanation has been given. This has only fueled suspicion and fear among JUI-F members and supporters.

As violence continues to spiral out of control, one thing is clear: Pakistan is becoming a battleground where even political leaders are not safe from assassination squads.
