Agra News:-A shocking case of fraud has come to light from Agra, where a newlywed bride drugged her in-laws on the wedding night and escaped with cash and jewelry worth over ₹1.3 lakh. The incident took place on the night of May 5, just hours after the marriage rituals were completed.

How It All Started

Rinku, the groom, had difficulty finding a match due to a physical issue with his hand. His elder brother, Soni, was approached by a lawyer who claimed to have a marriage proposal for Rinku. The lawyer said the girl was his relative and belonged to a poor family, so both sides would need to share the wedding expenses.

Trusting the lawyer, the family agreed. On May 4, they were called to the Mahadev Temple in Nagla Padi, where the bride — introduced as “Atima” — was shown to the family. Without any delay, the wedding rituals were completed at the temple, and the bride came home with her new family.

The Shocking Turn on Wedding Night

Everything seemed normal until that night. The bride offered milk to Rinku’s mother Kusuma, requesting that the entire family drink it before sleeping. However, the milk was laced with sedatives. One by one, all family members fell unconscious.

The next morning, when they woke up groggy and confused, they found that the bride had vanished. Along with her, ₹1.3 lakh in cash and valuable jewelry were missing. She didn’t act alone — CCTV footage later showed her leaving with six accomplices.

Fake Identities and Bigger Conspiracy

The family immediately tried to trace the bride at bus stops and railway stations, but she was nowhere to be found. They contacted the lawyer who had arranged the marriage, but he kept stalling and finally began issuing threats.

When the family investigated further, they found that all the names and relations given by the lawyer were fake. Even the bride’s Aadhaar card was forged and belonged to someone else from Rajasthan.

Family Seeks Political Help, Police Begin Investigation

Feeling helpless and threatened, the family reached out to local MLA Dr. Dharmpal Singh, who took them to the Police Commissioner. Only then was an FIR registered, and police began looking into the matter seriously.

Investigators scanned CCTV footage and confirmed that the bride had fled with six people. The police are now working to identify and arrest the remaining gang members involved in this planned fraud.

This disturbing incident has shocked the local community and serves as a warning — people willing to commit fraud are now using marriage as a tool. It highlights how important it is to verify identities and not blindly trust strangers, even in matters as sacred as marriage.
